It's officially spring, and since I haven't posted for shit on my own Vox blog, I decided it was high time to resuscitate MP3 Vox! This week's theme:

(hope this is okay, Dave- I couldn't stand to see mp3eme vox die!)
I love songs about sleeping! I love sleeping in general, although last night I had stress dreams about unpleasant library patrons who made me snap while working the desk. In my dream, I screamed at this guy "I'LL BE RIGHT WITH YOU!!!!!" Not sure what was going on there. Anyhow, some songs for you all.
I feel so obvy because everybody already knows this, but I would be lying if I chose anything other than "Hedwig and the Angry Inch." There just isn't a bad song in the lot, and it's made better for the fact that the soundtrack is the movie rather than a part of the background.
A couple of my favorites...
My personal favorite song on the cover album is "Midnight Radio," performed by Cyndi Lauper & the Minus 5. Cyndi Lauper was the shining beacon of freakhood that got me through high school. I always felt like she really got where I was coming from as a vulnerable and strange adolescent.
Dave's going to regret his statement after he sees my post. I've been saving up my favorite holiday songs just for y'all, including multiple versions of The Little Drummer Boy for the purposes of comparison.
First, my two favorites. I never fail to get a lump in my throat when I hear these songs.
Finally, a random assortment of holiday joy...
I suppose I have to be the obvious one on this MP3eme... I can't believe nobody posted these three yet! I'm glad to oblige on the obvious tip, in case others are embarrassed to do so.
This song has no spelling, but it's from the soundtrack to Akeelah and the Bee, and I like it, so I'm putting it on here to please mine own self.
